Carly is the OG artist and designer behind Girl Friday. Her unique design perspective met with the ability to fabricate and install her designs makes her a Jill-of-all-trades.
Based in Minneapolis, Carly and her team of talented Girl Fridays create one-of-a-kind art installations. The team is experienced in working with a wide range of techniques, skills and materials. Since 2012, they’ve designed and fabricated over a thousand installations.
Carly and her husband, Nick, live in Minneapolis.
How we work
Design
Starting with a thoughtful conversation, we’ll learn about your project goals and vision. With an understanding of how we can best help, we’ll put mouse to screen and design your project.
Our typical design turn around is two weeks.
Custom design takes a little extra time. In addition to conceptualizing designs for you, we may need to source materials or samples, experiment with a new process, talk to collaborating partners, visit the site to take detailed measurements, etc.
fabrication
With your go-ahead, we’ll add you to our production schedule and order your materials.
Our team of production artists are experienced in working with a wide range of materials, tools, and techniques. Our years of experience have made us experts in crafting one-of-a-kind projects efficiently while ensuring every detail is correct and beautifully finished.
Depending on the size and intricacy of your project, production takes anywhere from a day to a few weeks. Once your project is complete, we’ll package it for your installation.
Installation
While we love the whole process, this is our favorite part!
We’ll arrive and get right to work—installing your project with white glove service and great attention to detail. We come with everything needed to install from toolbox to ladders — everything in between.
Installation time varies with the scope of each project — from an hour to a few days.
