About Girl Friday

  • We're a small, but mighty team of artists making one-of-a-kind decor for events, interiors, public spaces, and brand experiences.

  • We design and make the pieces we install. Almost every detail is crafted in house.

  • We average 350 projects per year—between 4-9 per week.

What you’ll do

While we all do whatever needs to be done to make the company successful, this position focuses on:

Client Care (50% of your time)

  • Provide excellent customer service to clients throughout their entire course of service--from first inquiry to thank you note

  • Respond to calls and emails

  • Engage clients warmly and professionally

  • Serve as liaison between Carly and the client to communicate quotes, sales information, designs, etc.

  • Assist in putting together quotes

Administrative (30% of your time)

  • Monitor and update client tracking system via Trello

  • Monitor and update calendar tasks, including invoicing and deadline reminders

  • Send estimates, initial invoices, reminder invoices and track payments via Quickbooks

  • Pay vendor and material invoices

  • Bank deposits

  • Maintain an orderly and clean office environment

  • Schedule Carly’s phone calls and meetings

  • Book travel arrangements as needed (5-10 times per year)

  • General administrative tasks, as assigned

Ordering (15% of your time)

  • Order office and shop supplies as needed

  • Order materials, as assigned by Carly or the Production Manager

  • Order printed materials (such as signs or graphics to be applied to backdrops)

  • Order lunch

  • Track and receive mail and deliveries

  • Open deliveries and sort materials for upcoming jobs

  • Reserve rentals and equipment, as assigned by Carly or the Production Manager

Personal Assistance (5% of your time)

  • Set personal appointments for Carly

  • Occasional personal errands, such as oil changes or running to the post office


Schedule

  • This is an hourly position during weekday business hours – choose your preferred schedule of 7-8 hours per day between 9-6.

  • After a training period (no less that 3 months), opportunity to work 1-2 days a week remotely.

Compensation + Extras

  • This position $22-24 an hour, commensurate with experience.

  • In addition to pay, a meal is provided when working 6 consecutive hours onsite (a value of $4,150-5,000 per year).

  • When dining with the team, lunch breaks are paid.

  • 13 days of Paid Time Off per year (accrued hours become available after 60 days of employment)

  • Holidays are paid if they fall within the traditional business week: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day

  • After a year, this position is eligible for an annual bonus of up-to 10% based on performance.
